Why am I doing this? Why am I here, writing a blog?

"Maybe I could create a blog"...

That was the exact thought I had one afternoon as I sat on the playroom floor watching my kids play. I was thinking about everything I should be doing and all the things I wanted to do. However, I found myself just sitting there, not really doing anything. While taking a break is absolutely fine, I noticed I was spending most days just sitting around. Nothing ever changed, even though I desperately wanted things to be better. The daily chores were always taken care of, and the family's basic need were always met, but that seemed to be it. I wanted more.
Here I am a month later, still wanting more. I want a simpler home that I love being in and that is easier to maintain. I want to cook and prepare more meals from scratch. I want to give my kids meaningful experiences and spend more quality time with them each day. I also want to spend more time with my husband because even though we are together every day we don't really connect and enjoy each other's company like we used to. I also want to invest in myself so that I can feel happier and more fullfed. My beautiful family deserves more than the basics that I am giving them. Each day right now is the same, and each day I tell myself I am going to change things so that I have a simpler home and have more time to do all the things I really want to. Well today is the day I actually do it. My goal is to create a life that allows me to find more joy in the everyday moments.
Now, I know what you might be thinking: what does this have to do with starting a blog? Well, I want and need accountability and motivation. I also miss being creative and wanted something that was just for me—a different purpose beyond being a stay-at-home mom. I want to share my goals and document my journey toward reaching them. I hope to inspire myself to do better.
With that said, I have started my blog—a space to share and document my journey toward creating a joyful and simple life for my family and myself. I plan to post weekly so you can read about my experiences and any tips or tools that might help if you're trying something similar. I am not an expert, but I hope to encourage other moms to find little changes they can make that can improve their lives too.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you join me on this journey!
